Can you tile on painted concrete. Tiles can be set over the construction board panels using unmodified. Suggesting another product over the concrete is overkill. As long as there are not structural cracks in the concrete floor you can install porcelain tile over it. If the concrete has been sealed better adhesion may be achieved by going over the concrete with a grinder to create a rough surface.
The tile will be fine. The board is then pressed into place on the wall and adjusted for plumb and level. The surface must be free from dust dirt grease oil or other contaminating material. First a surface more textured and solid must be applied over the painted concrete.
Painted surface must be checked to ensure it is firmly adhered with no sign of flakiness. Paint used on concrete will not bond with the tile adhesive. After you have a clean concrete slab you can grind down high spots and you can flatten or level the surface by using a patching mortar for tile. This process will work on painted or bare concrete.
All paint will need to be removed before you begin installing the tile. Once the concrete floor is paint free the tiling process is similar to most other floor tiling jobs. You want water to readily absorb into it. While you can install tile directly on concrete problems erupt when the concrete cracks or shifts.
Unless the paint in question is properly applied epoxy paint not the kind that comes in a spray can you shouldn t install ceramic tiles over either paint or paint overspray. Existing ceramic tiles must be checked to ensure that they are firmly fixed with no signs of any loose or drummy tiles.
